“Two Individuals Win £1 Million Each in Premium Bond Draw”

Published:

Premium Bond results for December 2025 were unveiled today, bringing good fortune to two individuals who are now £1 million richer each.

Every month, two lucky individuals win £1 million through the Premium Bond scheme. In the recent December draw, the first winner hails from Norwich, holding £35,000 in Premium Bonds with the winning bond number 591RD417238, purchased in August 2024. The second winner resides in Cornwall, possessing £20,000 in Premium Bonds with the winning bond number 615WP633178, purchased in February 2025.

Premium Bonds, managed by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), offer a unique savings opportunity where instead of earning interest, participants are entered into a monthly prize draw. Prizes range from £25 to £1 million, with the majority of prizes being awarded in smaller amounts.

The chances of winning vary, with thousands of £25 prizes compared to just two £1 million prizes each month. Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, congratulated the December winners, emphasizing the joy of becoming millionaires just in time for Christmas. He highlighted that this month’s prize pool includes over six million prizes, with Premium Bonds remaining popular among more than 22 million participants.

Participants can have a maximum of £50,000 saved in Premium Bonds, with each pound invested earning a unique bond number. The odds of winning per bond are 22,000 to 1 monthly. Winners are notified via email or text message by NS&I, and can choose to have the prize money deposited into their bank account or reinvested in Premium Bonds.

To check if they have won, participants can use the NS&I online prize checker tool or the Premium Bonds prize checker app. The current prize fund rate is 3.60%, with fluctuations in prize distribution based on recent adjustments in the rate. Despite changes, two £1 million prizes are still awarded monthly to lucky winners.

In August 2025, the prize fund rate was reduced to 3.60%, impacting the distribution of prizes. Nearly 23 million individuals are currently participating in the Premium Bonds scheme.
