An atrocious mother neglected and withheld food from her daughter, leading to the girl’s death after she became extremely thin and skeletal.
The body of Kyneddi Miller was discovered in a state of severe emaciation in the family home’s bathroom during a welfare check by the police in Morrisvale, West Virginia. Julie A Miller, the 51-year-old mother, had kept Kyneddi out of school due to concerns about the pandemic but failed to provide proper care, leading to the tragic outcome.
Julie A Miller recently confessed in court to the charge of causing the death of a child under her care. She is expected to receive a sentence of up to 15 years in prison and will be added to the Child Abuse and Neglect Registry.
In a related development, Julie’s parents, Donna Stone and Jerry Stone, are also facing charges for the death of a child under their supervision. Donna’s trial is set to commence on February 24, 2026, after Jerry was deemed unfit to stand trial following a mental health evaluation.
During the investigation, Donna disclosed that Kyneddi was withdrawn from school during the Covid-19 pandemic for fear of transmitting the virus to her grandparents. However, records show that Kyneddi had minimal outside contact and did not receive medical attention during the alleged homeschooling period.
Donna claimed her granddaughter had an eating disorder and had stopped eating for months prior to her passing. Despite these allegations, it was revealed that Miller failed to provide adequate nourishment to her daughter.
Prosecutor Dan Holstein stated that Miller knowingly neglected her daughter’s essential needs. The sentencing has been postponed until February 25, 2026, at the Boone County Circuit Court in Morrisvale, West Virginia.
