British Man, 68, Fatally Shot in Ghana Robbery

A British man, aged 68, was fatally shot during a robbery incident in southern Ghana, according to local authorities. The tragic event occurred at a bar near the Community Nine cemetery in Tema, located approximately 15 miles east of Accra, the capital city. The victim was quickly taken to Tema General Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Reports indicate that the man was in the company of others when a group of six young men on motorcycles approached them. One of the assailants seized the victim’s phone from the table, leading to a confrontation. Amid the scuffle, one of the suspects fired a shot before the group fled on their bikes. The Tema Regional Police Command has initiated an intensive operation to locate the perpetrators.

Evidence in the form of a 9mm spent shell was recovered from the crime scene and is being analyzed for further leads. Police have interviewed witnesses and are in the process of notifying the British High Commission about the death of their citizen in Ghana.

A spokesperson from the Foreign Office informed The Mirror that they are providing assistance to the bereaved family of the deceased individual.
