A taxi driver miraculously survived a life-threatening attack after being shot seven times and losing a significant amount of blood. Brandy Littrell, aged 40, was going about her routine morning preparations for her job as a taxi driver when she fell victim to a harrowing incident involving a customer who kidnapped and shot her. The terrifying ordeal unfolded in 2021 when Brandy, then 36 years old, had been working as a Lyft driver in Mississippi for five years.
In November of that year, Brandy accepted a ride request from Dontarius Magee, now 20 years old, to drive him to a local McDonald’s where he was employed. However, the situation took a dark turn as Magee brandished a handgun, threatening Brandy and demanding her belongings before ordering her into the backseat of her own car.
Terrified and complying with Magee’s demands, Brandy recounted the events as she nervously gathered her possessions and followed his instructions. Magee then took control of the vehicle and drove recklessly while interrogating Brandy about her home possessions and family members, including her elderly grandmother, Dorothy.
The frightening ordeal escalated when Magee led Brandy into a wooded area, where he callously ordered her to kneel before shooting her multiple times. Despite believing he had succeeded in his malevolent act, Magee fled the scene, leaving Brandy injured but determined to seek help. Miraculously, none of the bullets had struck vital organs, with Brandy’s excess weight playing a crucial role in deflecting the bullets and saving her life.
After a swift police investigation, Brandy’s car was recovered, and Magee was apprehended while attempting to resume his work shift at McDonald’s. Following a traumatic recovery period, Brandy faced her assailant in court four years later in April 2025. Magee pleaded guilty to a series of grave charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery, carjacking, and kidnapping, resulting in a 30-year prison sentence.
