The police discovered the lifeless body of the 80-year-old woman, named Antonia, lying in her bed, with a radio still playing and a fan running beside her. The son, identified locally as Javier S, confessed to law enforcement officers that he had sealed his mother’s bedroom door with insulating tape to conceal the odor emanating from her decomposing remains.
