Scottie Scheffler has officially entered the prestigious $100 million club alongside golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy following his impressive victory at The American Express tournament.
As the current world No.1, Scheffler sent a clear message to the reigning Masters champion that he is a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming Major tournaments. This remarkable achievement comes after a setback last year when he injured his hand during the holiday season.
His recent triumph in California, where he finished with a six-under 66 for a total score of 27-under par, marked his 20th victory on the PGA Tour in just the past four years. This win not only secured him a lifetime membership but also pushed his total on-course earnings to over $101 million, joining the elite group of Woods and McIlroy in the nine-figure earnings club on the PGA Tour.
At 29 years old, Scheffler has now matched the feat of golf icons Woods and Jack Nicklaus by claiming 20 PGA Tour titles and four majors before turning 30. Reflecting on his success, Scheffler humbly acknowledged the honor of being mentioned alongside such golf greats.
Since his breakthrough win at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, Scheffler has outperformed his peers, including McIlroy, with 11 more victories. Notably, his consistency has been exceptional, with a streak of seven top finishes in his last 13 stroke-play events since his T-20 placement at The Players last March.
Jason Day, the joint runner-up at The American Express, praised Scheffler for his remarkable performance, likening his dominance to that of Tiger Woods.
