In Orlando, Florida, the 29-year-old from Shawinigan, Quebec, secured a victory against Australia’s Desley Robinson by unanimous decision, with all judges scoring the fight 100-90. This win marked Thibeault as the first Canadian woman to claim the unified professional world champion title, adding Robinson’s IBF and WBO middleweight titles to her collection, alongside the Ring Magazine belt.
Remarkably, Thibeault achieved this feat in just five professional fights, setting a record for the fewest fights needed to win a Ring Magazine world championship.
