The Windsor Police Service has announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man for impaired driving following a vehicle collision with a house. Responding to a call on Armanda Street near Malden Road around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers discovered the car positioned on the front lawn of the residence, its front bumper in contact with the front steps. The driver was found inside the vehicle.
Police identified several indications of potential impairment in the driver, such as bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, instability while standing, and struggling to remain alert. Subsequently, the individual was apprehended and transported to Windsor police headquarters, where a breath test revealed a blood alcohol level exceeding twice the legal limit. The man now faces charges of impaired driving.
Fortunately, no injuries were documented as a result of the incident. However, the house sustained over $10,000 in damages.
