The partner of professional golfer Jake Knapp on the PGA Tour, Makena White, has passed away at the age of 28. Their relationship began in August 2023 but was made public in 2024 following Knapp’s victory at the Mexico Open.
Knapp entered professional golf in 2016 and has secured one career win along with four top-10 finishes so far this year. Despite his achievements, he did not make the cut for Team USA in the ongoing Ryder Cup.
White, who hailed from Canada, worked in surgical sales, specializing in providing medical equipment to vascular and cardiac surgeons. She was known to be a devoted sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about hockey and golf from a young age.
A social media post by White’s friend confirmed her untimely passing, expressing deep sorrow on behalf of her loved ones. The message highlighted White’s unique ability to make others feel special, her loving nature, and the joy she brought to those around her.
The couple was captured on White’s Instagram account enjoying the North Berwick landscape during the Genesis Scottish Open, where Knapp finished tied for 22nd. White, in one of her final posts, openly expressed her affection for Knapp, celebrating their journey together and wishing for many more shared moments in the future.
