Police have provided an update following an incident where a mother and her child were ejected from their vehicle during a crash. The infant is expected to recover fully after being rescued from under the overturned car, as per official reports that included a dramatic video of the rescue operation on a busy highway.
Law enforcement responded to the scene on Thursday morning after receiving information about the mother and child being thrown from their car in the accident. Body camera footage released by the Fort Worth Police Department on social media depicts an officer rushing towards the flipped vehicle to search for the child, while a distressed woman can be heard in the background calling out for her baby.
The officer enlisted the help of other motorists who had stopped at the scene to assist in lifting the car. Instructing them to move the vehicle, the officer believed the child was trapped underneath. With continuous effort, the car was raised sufficiently for the officer to reach the child’s leg and extract them to safety.
Initially unresponsive, the child eventually showed signs of life, prompting attempts to revive them on the spot. Subsequently, the baby began to cry, indicating a positive turn of events. Both the mother and child are projected to fully recover, according to the police.
