AEW Wrestler Pac, 40, Passes Away, Leaving Wrestling Community in Mourning

Published:

English professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has passed away at the age of 40. AEW confirmed the news of his death on Sunday via their social media platforms. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Satterley, who recently competed on TV against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago, was praised for his high-flying wrestling style and remarkable in-ring skills.

Originally from Newcastle, England, Satterley commenced his wrestling journey in 2004 in the UK before venturing into various independent wrestling circuits globally, including Japan and Mexico. He gained recognition for his acrobatic maneuvers and muscular physique. Starting his wrestling training at 18, inspired by his aunt’s interest in WWF, Satterley later joined World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) from 2012 to 2018 under the name Adrian Neville, excelling in NXT and the cruiserweight division.

Joining AEW at its inception in 2019, Satterley became a prominent figure in the company, winning multiple championships and earning the title of inaugural international champion. Known for his finishing move, the black arrow, he was dubbed “The man that gravity forgot.” Throughout his wrestling career, he portrayed the persona of “The Bastard,” showcasing both menacing and comedic sides in the ring.

Despite maintaining a private personal life outside wrestling, Satterley received an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and friends following his untimely passing. AEW CEO Tony Khan and fellow wrestler Josh Alexander praised Satterley’s talent, work ethic, and humility, highlighting his impact on and off the wrestling stage.

His demise marks the second loss of an AEW wrestler in recent weeks, following the passing of Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher, in September. Williams, who collapsed during an independent wrestling event in Pittsburgh, was 48 years old and a member of the band Every Time I Die. Satterley, who rarely shared on social media, posted a photo with Williams just days before his own passing.
