British Family Seeks Justice for Son’s Mysterious Death

Published:

A family has come forward following the closure of a murder investigation by Spanish authorities into the death of a British father of four who passed away within a day of his arrival in Spain for a holiday.

Nathan Osman, a 30-year-old from Pontypridd, Rhondda Cyon Taf, traveled to Benidorm with friends in September 2024. Tragically, his body was discovered at the base of a cliff on the city’s outskirts less than 24 hours after his arrival.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the initial response and investigation conducted by Spanish law enforcement, Mr. Osman’s family pushed for a reopening of the case, which was subsequently closed again with authorities determining the death as accidental.

Approaching the one-year mark since his brother’s passing, Lee Evans, Nathan’s brother, emphasized the family’s determination to seek justice, stating that his brother had not received due consideration.

At the family’s urging, Spanish police revisited the case in May, but according to Mr. Evans, their conclusions were based solely on the evidence provided by the family, leading to another closure without any substantial investigation on the authorities’ part.

The family contends that evidence suggests Nathan may have been targeted, robbed, and transported to the remote location where his body was found, challenging the official ruling of accidental death.

Allegations include the possibility of Nathan being abducted, robbed, and relocated after being targeted while en route to his hotel. The family claims that there were attempts to use his bank card post-mortem and that his movements could have been captured by CCTV cameras.

Mr. Evans criticized the Spanish police’s assertion of accidental death, labeling it as speculative without concrete evidence.

With the approaching anniversary of Nathan’s demise, Mr. Evans highlighted the family’s emotional preparation for a challenging period, expressing a sense of abandonment and a plea for assistance.

He affirmed the family’s commitment to pursuing legal avenues to uncover the truth behind Nathan’s death, mentioning their engagement with other families in similar situations involving the overseas loss of loved ones.
