A father from Britain has passed away after collapsing at the peak of a mountain while hiking to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. The 63-year-old man climbed Ella Rock in southern Sri Lanka but suffered a heart attack upon reaching the summit. Despite being rushed to Bandarawela Hospital, he could not be revived.
An autopsy revealed that the father had experienced a heart attack. The duo arrived in Sri Lanka on October 16 and ventured to Ella Rock after exploring Weligama. The Foreign Office confirmed their support for the grieving family.
This tragic incident follows the recent death of a British fashion and travel influencer, Ebony McIntosh, in Sri Lanka. Ebony, 24, fell ill during her trip and was taken to the hospital with symptoms including vomiting and breathing difficulties. Sadly, she passed away shortly after arriving at the medical facility.
In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Ebony’s sister India expressed her deep sorrow and longing for her sister’s return. She vowed to seek justice for Ebony and lamented the loss of her beloved sibling.
