In a few days, I will present my second Budget as the Chancellor. My focus will be on supporting working families by addressing NHS waiting lists, reducing national debt, and lowering the cost of living. These priorities align with the needs of the nation and my responsibilities as Chancellor.
Addressing NHS waiting lists is crucial as we aim to restore the healthcare system from previous challenges and ensure timely treatment for patients. Reducing national debt is essential to allocate more resources to vital sectors like education, healthcare, law enforcement, and communities.
Lowering the cost of living is a top concern, especially for ordinary families facing financial pressure. The economy must work better for working individuals, and my upcoming Budget will take steps to alleviate this burden. Previous initiatives, such as freezing prescription charges and rail fares, have already provided relief to households.
Further measures in the Budget will continue to ease the cost of living, made possible by the economic stability we’ve achieved through prudent spending practices. Efforts to combat waste, fraud, and inefficiencies will ensure that resources are utilized effectively in areas such as asylum support, governance reforms, and welfare system integrity.
This Budget is designed to benefit you and your family, fostering a fairer, stronger, and more secure Britain.
