“Darts Prodigy Luke Littler Eyes World Championship Title”

Published:

Gary Anderson’s perspective diverges from the rankings when it comes to Luke Littler’s standing as the top player globally. Littler, who made a significant impact at the 2024 Darts World Championships, has been on a remarkable run in recent years.

After an impressive debut that led him to the final, Littler has continued to dominate the darts scene by claiming titles such as the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, and the Premier League. Despite his accomplishments, he remains in second place behind Luke Humphries in the world rankings, with Humphries having earned £1,769,000 in prize money compared to Littler’s £1,697,000.

When asked about the best player in the world, Gary Anderson unequivocally pointed to Luke Humphries as the top contender. Anderson also highlighted Michael van Gerwen as the standout player in Europe outside of the UK.

While Littler strives to reach the number one spot, he acknowledges the current rankings and expresses determination to keep pushing forward. With the upcoming world championships on the horizon, Littler aims to maintain his momentum and potentially surpass Humphries in the standings.

As the anticipation builds for the world championship set to take place from December 15 at Alexandra Palace, Littler prepares to face off against a field of competitors that will be finalized on November 24. The draw for the event is expected to follow shortly after the qualifiers are confirmed.
