The Mirror recently unveiled that 451 postcode areas have qualified for Cold Weather Payments this year. To be eligible for such payments, individuals must be recipients of specific benefits or mortgage support.
Payments are typically deposited directly into the recipient’s bank account within 14 working days. However, applications are required for those with infants or children under five moving in with them.
Administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the Cold Weather Payments program is scheduled to continue until March 31, 2026.
It’s important to note that Cold Weather Payments are not applicable in Scotland, where they have been substituted by the Winter Heating Payment scheme, valued at £59.75.
