Emergency services responded to an incident involving an easyJet flight at Manchester Airport. The situation occurred as the flight was preparing to depart from Terminal 1 for Lanzarote on Saturday morning.
The issue stemmed from a problem with the aircraft tug, which is a vehicle responsible for moving planes on the ground. The tug made contact with the front wheels of the plane, prompting an emergency response from rescue teams at the airport.
Passengers on flight EZY 2029 were asked to deboard the aircraft for safety checks, although there was no official evacuation. The operation did not affect other flights, but one boarding gate was temporarily closed.
Pictures shared on social media depicted emergency vehicles on the tarmac, a standard procedure in such situations. An easyJet spokesperson confirmed the delay of flight EZY2029 due to the tug incident and assured that passengers were safe and provided with refreshments while waiting for an alternative aircraft.
Safety remains a top priority for the airline, and they apologized for any inconvenience caused by the delay.
