Kentucky State University’s campus is currently under lockdown due to an active aggressor incident. The Frankfort Police Department has confirmed the lockdown, stating that more information will be provided by the department and the university as it becomes available.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has called for prayers for those impacted by the tragic event.
Kentucky State University assured its students that there is no ongoing threat to the campus community at this time.
According to officials, two students were shot near Whitney M. Young Jr. Hall, a residence hall on the southern part of the campus.

Assistant Chief of Police Scott Tracy of Frankfort informed WDRB that the shooting occurred at Young Hall on the university campus, resulting in injuries to two individuals.

In a social media post, the Frankfort Police Department confirmed their response to the active aggressor situation at KSU’s campus and the subsequent lockdown, with the suspect being apprehended.
The Frankfort Sheriff’s Office also confirmed the arrest of a suspect and the securing of the campus on their official Facebook page.
