A court has heard that a woman who was fatally stabbed by her possessive boyfriend was living in fear before her death. Michael Ormandy, known as ‘The Hitman’ due to a tattoo on his neck, brutally killed his partner Rebekah Campbell in her flat in Huyton, Liverpool. Rebekah, 32, was stabbed 27 times and pleaded for help as she collapsed outside the building.
Text exchanges between the couple revealed Rebekah’s fear and discomfort in the days leading up to the tragic incident. On the night of the stabbing, witnesses heard Rebekah shouting for Ormandy to leave before a loud bang was heard, followed by silence. Ormandy was caught on CCTV leaving the scene as Rebekah emerged, stating that she had been stabbed.
Ormandy’s alarming behavior continued after the incident, where he made threats to harm others if his dogs were touched by the police. Despite denying the extent of the stabbing, a post mortem examination confirmed that Rebekah suffered 27 wounds during a violent attack.
Ormandy was found guilty of murder and received a life sentence with a minimum of 24 years in prison.
