The mother of a teenage girl from Florida who was tragically killed recently has spoken out following the arrest of two teenage suspects involved in the case.
Danika Troy, a 14-year-old girl, was found deceased in a wooded area near Pace, Florida, after her mother, Ashley Troy, reported her missing. Her body was discovered by a passerby, showing signs of burning and gunshot wounds. The Santa Rosa County police arrested and charged Gabriel Williams, 16, and Kimahri Blevins, 14, with first-degree premeditated murder in connection with her death. They are accused of luring her to the woods, shooting her, and setting her on fire.
Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation, with indications that the two suspects planned the murder following a dispute during the Thanksgiving break. It is reported that Troy insulted Williams and blocked Blevins on social media during this time.
Despite the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Ashley Troy, a devoted Baptist, expressed compassion towards the boys, referring to them as her daughter’s friends. She emphasized that she holds the evil influence responsible for the tragedy, stating, “I don’t blame those boys. I blame evil influence, I don’t hate them, I hate what they did to my baby.” She also mentioned her desire for the boys to face full prosecution under the law.
A candlelight vigil is scheduled to be held at the Avalon Baptist Church in Milton for Danika Troy, where her mother shared fond memories of her daughter being a beautiful and devout individual.
Following the discovery of the body, police conducted interviews with witnesses associated with the crime. Allegedly, Blevins confessed to planning the murder, and Williams admitted to law enforcement that Troy had made hurtful remarks towards him before the incident.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff mentioned that the motive behind the crime appears inconsistent with the evidence gathered so far. It was disclosed that Williams used a firearm belonging to his mother to commit the act. Both teenagers are currently detained at the Santa Rosa Juvenile Detention Center without bail, as investigations into the case continue.
