JFK’s Granddaughter Reveals Terminal Leukemia Battle

Published:

Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of John F Kennedy, has shared heartbreaking news about her health, revealing a terminal diagnosis of myeloid leukaemia, a form of blood cancer. This devastating revelation came shortly after the birth of her daughter last year, when doctors noticed abnormal white blood cell levels.

In a poignant essay for the New Yorker magazine coinciding with the anniversary of JFK’s assassination, Tatiana disclosed her diagnosis in May 2024 and the grim prognosis given by her doctor during a recent clinical trial. Despite being a picture of health prior to her diagnosis, she underwent two bone-marrow transplants, chemotherapy, and blood transfusions, eventually joining a clinical trial for CAR-T-cell therapy at the beginning of 2025.

Expressing her anguish over the impact on her family, Tatiana acknowledged the guilt she felt for adding another tragedy to her mother’s life. She also criticized her second cousin, RFK Jr, for his stance on cancer funding and vaccine skepticism, calling his actions a strain on the healthcare system she relied upon.

The Kennedy family has long been plagued by misfortune, with the so-called Kennedy Curse haunting its members for decades. From JFK’s assassination to Robert Kennedy’s tragic death and other family losses, the legacy of tragedy seems to persist within the prominent political dynasty. Mary Kennedy, Robert F Kennedy Jr’s ex-wife, also succumbed to the alleged curse in 2012, marking another sorrowful chapter in the family’s tumultuous history.

Despite the challenges she faces, Tatiana remains resilient, sharing her story with the world and shedding light on the struggles she and her family have endured. The Kennedy family’s legacy continues to be marred by tragedy, underscoring the fragility of life and the enduring impact of loss on those left behind.
