A deceased individual has been discovered during the search for a British man who went missing in Spain. Marc Tulloch Hewson was last seen in the Los Balcones area of Torrevieja on September 20. He had recently left his residence in Orihuela Costa and was admitted to Torrevieja Hospital before disappearing after being discharged in the early hours of September 19.
Reports indicate that Hewson’s mental state was deteriorating, and he was last sighted in Los Balcones collecting bottles without any identification or footwear. A body recovered from the water at the fishing port of Aguilas in Murcia is believed to be his, with Spanish media stating that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Catherine, Marc’s wife, issued a formal plea on October 7 for information on his whereabouts. Fiona Crowther, Marc’s sister, was actively involved in the search efforts and was present during the ground search that led to the discovery of his body.
Expressing gratitude for the community support, Fiona and Catherine confirmed the identification of the body as Marc’s. Kelsey Johnson, another participant in the search, thanked everyone for their assistance and comforting words during the search, acknowledging the unfortunate outcome and emphasizing the significance of the support received during the ordeal.
