In Ohio, a tragic incident unfolded as a man fatally shot two children and another man before taking his own life, as reported by the police. The perpetrator, identified as Ryan Eagon, 42, allegedly committed the heinous act after learning that his wife intended to leave their residence due to ongoing domestic problems.
The distressing event occurred on Huss Street in Tiffin, with authorities responding to a call regarding gunshots just before 6:30 pm on Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered four victims with gunshot wounds at the scene, accompanied by a visibly shocked and traumatized woman who remained unharmed physically. The authorities are treating the incident as a suspected murder-suicide.
Dustin Willey, 29, the father of one of the children involved, was assisting the woman in moving out of the house, unaware that Eagon was present. While gathering belongings inside, they heard a cry from the boy, prompting Eagon to confront them in the driveway.
Eagon proceeded to chase Willey, firing multiple shots at him, before turning the gun on both children and then Willey again. Subsequently, Eagon took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The mother, witnessing the tragic scene, called 911 and brought the lifeless children back into the house.
Willey and the seven-year-old boy were rushed to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. The seven-month-old baby and Eagon were pronounced dead at the scene. Colleagues described Willey as a devoted father who prioritized his son above all else.
Police Chief David Pauly issued a statement urging the community to support the grieving families and the emergency responders dealing with the aftermath. Autopsies are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing, as authorities work to unravel the details behind this heartbreaking incident.
