“Olympic Medalist Hunter Bell Inspires Young Athletes”

Published:

Georgia Hunter Bell returned to her hometown to share her valuable insights with aspiring young athletes. The Olympic bronze medallist in the 1500m race recently secured a silver medal in the 800m event at the world championships in Tokyo, narrowly beating her training partner Keely Hodgkinson for second place. Hunter Bell visited the Ealing Southall & Middlesex Athletics Club at their Perivale headquarters, where she developed her skills as a young athlete.

During her visit, the middle-distance runner coached the young athletes, took photos with them, and engaged in a Q&A session to offer guidance to those aiming to achieve similar success. She emphasized the importance of bravery in races, recounting advice she received from a fellow athlete that stuck with her. Hunter Bell highlighted the significance of discipline in areas such as sleep, hydration, and recovery, stressing that rest is as crucial as training for optimal performance.

Hunter Bell’s decision to leave her cybersecurity job proved to be the right choice, leading to her success on the global stage with two medals. Encouraging the club’s youngsters, she reminded them to focus on their individual paths and avoid excessive comparison with others, citing the diverse journeys of athletes at the elite level.

The club members warmly welcomed Hunter Bell’s visit, appreciating her contribution akin to former Ealing athlete Dame Kelly Holmes in representing the nation. Peter Flewitt, the ESM membership manager, praised Hunter Bell’s achievements and influence on young athletes, highlighting the significance of support, training, and belief in realizing one’s potential.
