“PDC Clarifies Audience Makeup at Saudi Darts Masters”

Published:

The PDC has provided clarification regarding the audience makeup at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters following Nathan Aspinall’s comments suggesting otherwise. The tournament kicked off with notable players like Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries participating along with Aspinall.

After securing a victory over Lourence Ilagan in his initial match, Aspinall shared his perspective on the event’s ambiance. Expressing his views, he mentioned that although the setting was different and intimate, he felt some attendees might not have all voluntarily chosen to be there. Despite the small venue, he acknowledged the importance of starting somewhere in such endeavors.

Reacting to Aspinall’s remarks, the PDC responded, asserting that all spectators were enthusiastic attendees who either held tickets or were guests. They highlighted that the event marked the first of its kind in the region, attracting many individuals experiencing live darts for the first time.

Aside from Aspinall’s observations, reigning world champion Luke Littler also commented on the atmosphere, noting it was quieter than what he was accustomed to. Despite the subdued environment, Littler managed to secure a win and emphasized the need for more noise to enhance the experience.
