The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her conduct during her recent match against Dave Chisnall at the World Championship. Sherrock playfully imitated an incident involving a drinks table that her former partner, Cameron Menzies, had caused a stir by punching earlier in the week.
Menzies, who suffered injuries after his outburst at the table following a loss to Charlie Manby, received support from PDC chief executive Matt Porter. Porter emphasized the availability of assistance from the PDC and the PDPA (players union) for Menzies, prioritizing the well-being of the players.
Both Sherrock and Menzies were eliminated in the first round of the tournament. Sherrock struggled with her doubles against Chisnall, missing 20 out of 23 attempts, resulting in a 3-0 defeat. Menzies, the 26th seed, led in his match against Manby but eventually lost 3-2. Menzies attributed part of his emotional reaction to the recent passing of his uncle.
Chisnall acknowledged the competitiveness of his match against Sherrock, noting that her accuracy with doubles could have changed the outcome. He advanced to the next round to face Ricardo Pietreczko.
Upcoming matches in the tournament include Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall among the seeded players, while rising star Beau Greaves will face Daryl Gurney.
