“Police Issue Warning Over Van Driver’s Rudeness on M1”

A van driver received a stern warning after gesturing rudely at a passing HGV on the M1, according to Nottinghamshire Police. The driver was stopped by police for not wearing a seatbelt and was given a verbal warning along with a separate fine for the offense. PC Pearce Riley emphasized the seriousness of not wearing a seatbelt, highlighting the potential risks in case of a collision.

The police operation aimed to enhance road safety and reduce fatalities and serious injuries on the road network. During the operation, 50 motorists were fined. This incident occurred following the enforcement of new rules that led to over 10,000 motorists receiving fines for various violations.

In Gloucestershire, 13,000 drivers were prosecuted for speeding through the A417 Missing Link roadworks, prompting National Highways to issue a warning about the risks of not adhering to the 40mph speed limit in place. National Highways stressed the importance of safety on the road, especially during ongoing roadworks where drivers need to be cautious and follow the speed limits.

Eline Acard, Senior Project Manager at National Highways, emphasized the priority placed on safety for both road users and workers. The project completion is crucial, and drivers are urged to respect the safety measures in place to prevent accidents and protect everyone involved.
