A teenager, aged 15, was discovered with stab wounds after law enforcement responded to reports of a disturbance involving multiple individuals in an urban area. Greater Manchester Police swiftly arrived at Monton Street in Moss Side, where the boy was found injured. Despite receiving treatment at the scene and being transported to the hospital, he was tragically declared deceased. Subsequently, a homicide investigation has been initiated.
The police department announced, “We received a call regarding a disturbance involving multiple people at Monton Street, Moss Side, around 4:30 pm today (September 15, 2025). Regrettably, a 15-year-old was located with stab wounds and, following treatment on-site and at the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.” A stop and search directive has been enforced until the following evening.
“There will be a section 60 enforced until 5:20 pm on Tuesday, September 16, permitting officers to conduct stop and search operations in the designated area highlighted in red,” the department stated, providing a map of the Moss Side vicinity. Chief Superintendent David Meeney of the City of Manchester district mentioned that specialized officers are assisting the victim’s family while an inquiry is in progress.
Meeney stated, “A comprehensive investigative strategy is in place as we strive to identify the perpetrator responsible for this heinous act resulting in the loss of a young life. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends following this tragic and distressing incident, and our specialized officers are there to support them during this challenging period. We have deployed officers in the vicinity to determine the events leading up to the incident.”
Ch Spt Meeney also urged the public to step forward with any information about the incident. “This event understandably has elicited shock and unease within the community and adjacent areas, especially those who were witnesses,” he remarked. “You will notice an increased police presence in the area tonight and in the days ahead as we remain dedicated to providing the victim’s family with the closure they seek.
