“Tragic Deaths at Disney World: Man, Woman Pass Away”

Published:

A man in his 60s has sadly passed away at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, just a week after a young woman also lost her life at the theme park.

The woman was discovered near Disney’s Contemporary Resort, one of the many hotels on the expansive property, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) has confirmed to US media that it appeared to be a case of “apparent suicide”.

Tragedy struck again on Tuesday at 7:30 am when authorities, resort personnel, and emergency responders hurried to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in response to a “Person Down” report.

The man was found to have experienced a “medical episode” and was later declared deceased at a hospital.

A spokesperson from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office informed US media: “A man in his 60s suffered a medical episode and was taken to a local hospital where he unfortunately passed away. There is no indication of any foul play involved.”

The incident took place at the Cottontail Curl campsite, one of the 21 camping locations within the resort. An emergency notification was issued for all guests staying at the resort.

This incident follows the death of Summer Equitz, 31, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on October 14 due to “multiple blunt impact injuries”, as reported by the OCSO.

Initial social media posts suggested she was hit by the resort’s monorail, but the sheriff’s office later clarified that this information was inaccurate.

Ms. Equitz, a resident of Naperville, was identified by the local medical examiner’s office. She had posted pictures of her enjoyment at Disney parks on social media.

Before her death was confirmed by authorities, a now-removed Reddit post described Equitz as a “missing person”, with the user alleging that she had travelled to Florida to visit Disney “without informing us”, as reported by People.

Disney has not provided a statement regarding her passing, and an investigation is currently underway.
