Joe Marler, known for his role in the TV series Traitors, recently shared a personal tragedy involving his partner Daisy’s grandmother passing away during the filming of the show. This unexpected event initially led Marler to consider leaving the production, but he was persuaded by his wife to stay. Subsequently, he channeled his emotions into his performance on the program, showcasing his confrontational and controversial side during the round-table discussions.
Marler recounted the difficult period, stating that he had informed the producers of his decision to quit upon hearing the news of Daisy’s grandmother’s death. However, Daisy encouraged him to remain on the show until he was eliminated. This pivotal moment pushed Marler to overcome his self-doubts and give his all, even if it meant facing elimination.
Despite facing challenges, Marler managed to survive three weeks on Traitors, ultimately reaching the final round. While he demonstrated keen observation by identifying fellow traitors, his efforts fell short when he failed to convince others to eliminate a key competitor, leading to his own elimination.
Regarding the financial aspect of the show, Marler disclosed that he received less compensation than previously rumored, indicating potential discrepancies in payment among participants. Contrary to reports suggesting a standard payment of £40,000 for all contestants, Marler clarified that not everyone received the same amount, stating that he was content with his earnings regardless of the outcome.
Reflecting on his time on the show, Marler shared insights into his interactions with other contestants, particularly praising his fellow participant Nick Mohammed. Despite his elimination, Marler expressed admiration for the ultimate winner, Alan Carr, acknowledging his success in the competition.
