“UK Households Receive £70 Supermarket Vouchers for Living Expenses”

Published:

Households in a specific region of the UK are receiving £70 supermarket vouchers to assist with living expenses. The initiative is part of the Household Support Fund, which is managed by local councils across the country. Wakefield Council is distributing these vouchers to low-income households that receive council tax support. Pensioners who are part of the Council Tax Support program have already received a £70 voucher, with additional vouchers planned for other eligible households.

Starting December 15, families enrolled in Council Tax Support will receive a £50 voucher, while other households in the program will receive a £70 voucher between December 3 and December 12. Eligible recipients will automatically receive the vouchers within 14 days of the specified distribution dates. Residents are advised to remain vigilant against potential scams targeting them.

If you are a resident outside of Wakefield, it is recommended to check with your local council for similar support through the Household Support Fund. For example, Blackpool Council is providing energy assistance up to £300 for qualifying households, while Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is issuing £120 vouchers to eligible residents. These funds aim to aid individuals experiencing financial hardship in paying their bills, without the requirement of receiving specific benefits. Payments are made directly to energy providers and can be applied for through respective council websites.

It should be noted that only one award can be claimed within a 12-month period. The support is intended to alleviate financial burdens and provide direct assistance to those in need.
