“Woman Found Unconscious in Car with Cocaine: Court Case”

Published:

A 21-year-old woman was discovered unconscious in a running Audi A1 with an empty balloon in her mouth and a canister on her lap, a court in Warrington heard. Identified as Madison Boscoe-Hough, she was incoherent when police officers arrived at the scene in Widnes, Cheshire, on August 2. A concerned bystander had alerted the authorities after observing Boscoe-Hough driving erratically. Following a failed roadside drug test, it was confirmed that she had cocaine in her system.

The incident unfolded on Wilmere Lane in Widnes, where Boscoe-Hough, a resident of Sutton Leach near St Helens, was reported to the police. Subsequent blood tests indicated a concentration of 68 micrograms of benzoylecgonine (BZE) per liter of blood, surpassing the legal limit of 50mcg/l, which is a metabolite of cocaine.

Boscoe-Hough admitted to drug driving and was handed a 20-month driving ban alongside a £346 fine plus additional costs. The prosecution highlighted that a concerned individual had observed her with a balloon in her mouth, leading to the police intervention. Despite being unrepresented in court, Boscoe-Hough acknowledged the events without further elaboration. The bench chairman condemned her actions, stating that driving in such a condition was wholly unacceptable.
