Lottery Winner Keeps £15M Jackpot Secret from Son

Published:

A man who used to work in a factory and won a £15 million lottery jackpot has shared that he has not disclosed his newfound wealth to his own son. Alain, now living a luxurious life in retirement, has purchased a villa and five luxury cars following his win but has opted to keep his son unaware of the substantial windfall.

Alain, from France, realized his luck after years of playing the lottery with his family’s birthdates as lucky numbers while in the process of moving to a new house. Despite seeing the substantial amount on the screen, Alain remained calm, focusing on his relocation, planning to deal with the win the following day.

Upon confirming his victory, Alain left his job in the car industry, acquired his dream home – a renovated villa with a swimming pool, and indulged in five luxury cars, including a Porsche and an Aston Martin, along with a couple of watches.

Having invested parts of his fortune, Alain is now earning ten times more than his previous factory wage. While he shared the news with his sister, he chose to keep his son uninformed to avoid disrupting his son’s work ethic and understanding of financial value.

Although he hasn’t disclosed his wealth to his son, Alain has treated him to lavish vacations since becoming a millionaire. Alain’s decision mirrors that of another lottery winner who won £7.6 million in the United States but chose not to inform his family to prevent reckless spending.

The anonymous winner mentioned on the Bobby Bones Show that he had set up accounts for his children and grandchildren to secure their future, preferring to stay anonymous and avoid extravagant purchases.

In a similar scenario, a lottery winner in Jamaica concealed his identity with a Scream mask when collecting a prize of nearly £1 million in 2019, expressing intentions to use the money to buy a house.
