In response, the England and Wales Cricket Board has enforced a curfew for the players. They must return to the team hotel before midnight and uphold their responsibilities as ambassadors for the team. The team is set to play series against Sri Lanka before the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Following the Ashes tour, ECB director of cricket Rob Key faced criticism for the team’s behavior. Key emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and responsible behavior, especially for multi-format players like Brook and Jofra Archer.
A review was initiated by ECB chief executive Richard Gould after the Ashes series to address tour planning, individual performance, and behavioral issues within the team. The focus is on improving team dynamics and response mechanisms for future tours.
